Wildfowling & Inland Duck Flighting

View Earith Washes Permits And Guidelines.

Wildfowling

As a Member of the L.W.A. you will have the opportunity to shoot on the Wash. Thanks to a joint membership scheme which we have with south Lincs wildfowling club which allows their members to use our facilities and our members to use their facilities.

This provides good opportunity to see Mallard Wigeon Pintail and sometimes the odd pink foot. We also jointly own 60 acres of the Ouse wash at Earith in Cambridgeshire which is a flood control area that is 22 miles long and can retain water from November through to January. It is a great opportunity for all species of duck plus greylag Canada and sometimes Pinkfooted geese.

Hides & Location

There are three elevated hides on site all you need is your camo net and decoys. All the shooting on these sites is controlled through our Wildfowling officer Mr Karl Ivens and the Earith permit officer who lives nearby. The cost of shooting this outstanding area is £6 a day and is open to members only on a booking in system.

We also have a disused gravel pit in the Wreake Valley just South of Melton Mowbray near the River Wreake the site is 3 acres with a 17 acre field with scrapes. This provides excellent inland flighting for Mallard Wigeon, Gadwall, Greylag, and many Canada Geese. This site is shot 8 times per season dependant on weather. We have permanent hides on this location with good success. We currently hold a bag Limit on these nights and to shoot on this site all you need to do is take part in our work parties at our Wildfowl reserve Priory Water which is a 60 acre lake surrounded by fields.

This is something for the shooting man to be proud of and for shooting in general.

The reserve manager is Mr S Barby he books in the work parties and will assess your skills and set you to work accordingly. Regular attendance at these work parties will reward you with a good night on the Shooting lake and the knowledge that you are putting something back into your passion for shooting.
